National PTA  is the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America.  Today’s PTA is comprised of more than 4 million parents, teachers,  grandparents, caregivers, foster parents and other caring adults who  share a commitment to improving the education, health, and safety of all  children. National PTA speaks with one voice for every child.

Florida  PTA is the largest statewide volunteer organization working exclusively  on behalf of children and youth. Founded in 1923 as a branch of the 6  million member National PTA, Florida PTA is made up of approximately  1,450 local units with 300,000 Florida members seeking to unite home,  school and community for all children.

The  Miami-Dade County Council of PTAs/PTSAs is composed of 50,000 +/-  PTA/PTSA members, within 350 local units, serving more than 350,000  students and their families. The Council was organized under the  authority of the Florida PTA in 1923.

The council maintains a close working relationship with Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
