Description:

Expand your global knowledge and explore the fascinating world around you! The Geography Club is open to students in grades 4 – 5 who are interested in learning more about countries, maps, and cultures with fun and challenging activities. Club members will also prepare for the district’s annual GEOGRAPHY BEE, where they will have the chance to test their knowledge and compete in a friendly, supportive environment. As defending district champions, we’re looking for enthusiastic students who are passionate about exploring the world and learning new facts to help us keep our winning title!

A qualifying exam will be given to interested students on Tuesday, September 8th 3:05-3:45pm in room 721. Dismissal will be at 3:45pm through the carpool lane on 57th Avenue. Students with the highest scores will be invited to register for the club.

Our 5th Grade Hydroponics Club gives students a hands-on opportunity to grow their knowledge while learning how plants can thrive without soil! 🌱 Students will explore science, technology, and sustainability as they root for their plants, experiment with hydroponic systems, and LEAF no question unanswered. Through teamwork, creativity, and plenty of fun, students will SPROUT new skills and discover that learning about plants is truly unbe-leaf-able!

Description:

 Junior Chemists Club is a fun, hands-on science club where students learn about the exciting world of chemistry through creative experiments and activities. Students will make and investigate fascinating creations while learning about mixtures, reactions, polymers, density, and physical and chemical changes. Each meeting gives students an opportunity to make predictions, conduct experiments, observe results, and think like real scientists. Come ready to mix, make, experiment, and discover!

Description:

Join us for an engaging after-school program designed to spark curiosity, collaboration, and creativity. Students will participate in hands-on projects that combine STEAM challenges in a fun and interactive environment. Minecraft Education provides a safe, teacher-guided platform where learning and play come together. Students will explore real-world concepts through immersive challenges and simulations, develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, apply math, science, and architectural/engineering principles while building and designing, express creativity through digital storytelling, art, and design, and strengthen digital citizenship and responsible technology use.

We believe this club will give students a unique opportunity to learn by doing—transforming their love of Minecraft

into meaningful exploration and discovery.

Description: 

Students in 3rd through 5th grade are eligible to audition. Students must sing or play a piece of their choosing. Due to limited rehearsal time, students should have some experience playing one of

our band instruments (drums, guitar, bass, piano). Our goal is to bring these young musicians together

and create a rock ensemble. Band 101 meets every Wednesday Morning from 7:50-8:30AM in Room 807. The Band is a year-long commitment starting Wednesday, October 7, 2026-May 6, 2027. Band 101 students will participate in a Holiday and Spring Performance.

Students in 3rd through 5th grade are eligible to audition. Students in this group have more experience playing their instrument and performing in this type of group setting. Students must sing

or play a piece of their choosing. If a student was in Band 101 or House Band last year, they must

audition for a spot in the band each year. House Band meets every Thursday After-School from

3:05-4:00PM in Room 807. The Band is a year-long commitment starting Wednesday, October 8,

2026-May 6, 2027. House Band students will participate in a Holiday and Spring Performance including a

variety of other school-wide and community performances.

Description: 

 The Oratorical club provides students with the opportunity to discover and refine their research, writing, and public speaking skills through a challenging competition. Students will learn about public speaking.  They will be given a poem to recite about social justice/human rights. They will learn how to speak with the appropriate tone, act it out, use eye contact, etc. Later on in the year, the students will audition for their spot to compete in the district's oratorical competition representing Pinecrest and will attend Wednesdays as well to prepare. This club requires a year long commitment and will run until STEAM Night in April.

 The first 20 (2nd through 5th grade) students who sign up for the Beginning

Orchestra, through PEP CLUBS, will participate. This club meets every Wednesday from 1:50-3:00PM in

Room 115. The Beginning Orchestra is a year-long commitment starting Wednesday, October 7, 2026 -

May 6, 2027. Students will receive a school issued violin to use for the year. Beginning Orchestra students will participate in a Holiday and Spring Performance.

 Students in 2nd-5th grade are eligible to audition. Students must play a piece of

their choosing for the audition. Advanced players have experience playing either violin, viola or cello.

This club meets every Monday from 3:05-4:05PM in Room 115. The Advanced Orchestra is a year-long

commitment starting Monday, October 5, 2026 - May 6, 2027. Students in the Advanced Orchestra are

responsible for having their own instrument either through rental or purchase. Advanced Orchestra

students will participate in a Holiday and Spring Performance and various other school-wide events.

Students in the Advanced Orchestra are also eligible to audition for the Superintendent’s Honors

Orchestra.

Description: 

Get ready to lace up and hit the ground running! Whether you're new to running or already a speedster, this club is a fun way to get active, build endurance, and work toward big goals—one step at a time!

Throughout the year, students will track their miles as they work toward completing a 5K (3.1 miles), a Half Marathon (13.1 miles), and a Full Marathon (26.2 miles). Each milestone reached will be celebrated with a special medal to mark the achievement!

Students will improve fitness and stamina, build confidence and commitment, make new friends, have fun, and celebrate BIG accomplishments with cool rewards.

Unleash the engineers! We’re bringing STEM to life with VEX IQ, a super-versatile, snap-together robotics system. Students will design, build, and code their own robots from scratch—learning real-world programming through total hands-on creation! 

There will be a parent interest form, teacher recommendation, and a try out to choose who will participate. students will also participate in different competitions representing our school and at STEAM Night. This club requires a yearlong commitment.

Typing Club is an engaging and interactive program designed to introduce young students to essential keyboarding skills.
