
The PTA President is the strategic leader and central coordinator, ensuring all parts of the PTA work together effectively. Responsibilities include leading Board and General Membership meetings, overseeing board members' duties, and maintaining communication with the Principal. The President ensures all initiatives align with PTA goals, approves communications, and collaborates with the Treasurer on the budget. Additionally, the President appoints the Parliamentarian and serves as an ex-officio member of all committees, providing guidance and support.
The 1st Vice President oversees the internal operations, school support, and core PTA infrastructure. This role includes coordinating administrative programs and school-based initiatives, managing and supporting committee chairs, and conducting regular check-ins with them. The 1st VP provides updates at board meetings and steps in when committees need additional support.
Assigned committees include EESAC, Hospitality, PTA Membership, Parent Tours, Pinecrest 101, Staff Appreciation, Mini Grants, Welcome Mates, Car Line Committee, Lost & Found, and Stock the Lounge.
The 2nd Vice President leads all fundraising efforts and revenue-generating initiatives for the PTA. This role involves overseeing fundraising committees and events, evaluating their performance, and coordinating sponsorships and donor relationships. The 2nd VP works closely with the Treasurer and Budget Committee on financial planning and ensures all fundraising activities are approved in advance.
Assigned committees include Birthday Book Club, Book Fair, Boosterthon, Brick Campaign, Budget Committee, Corporate Sponsorship, Carnival, Give Miami Day, School Store, and PEP Movie Night.
The 2nd VP is responsible for generating the funds that support all PTA initiatives.
The 3rd Vice President oversees student programs, enrichment, and school-wide experiences. Responsibilities include coordinating PTA-supported student and family programs, managing program-based committee chairs, and supporting initiatives that enhance student life and school culture. The 3rd VP collaborates with the President and committee chairs on programming priorities to ensure a well-rounded experience for all students.
Assigned committees include Art Appreciation (1st Grade), Career Day, Counselor’s Crew, Field Day, 5th Grade Activities, Green Committee, Listeners Program, Lunch Committee, Safety Patrol /Italian Night, Social Committee, STEAM & Literacy Night, Trunk or Treat, Watch DOGS, and Wellness.
The 3rd VP focuses on enhancing the student experience and fostering school community engagement.
The 4th Vice President manages all PTA communications and public-facing content. Responsibilities include overseeing communication channels such as the newsletter, social media, and website, ensuring all communications follow approval protocols, and coordinating messaging with committee chairs and VPs. The 4th VP ensures consistent branding and messaging across all platforms.
Assigned committees include PTA Website, Memory Book, Social Media, Parrot Talk (Newsletter), and Room Parent Coordinator.
The 4th VP controls the voice, visibility, and communication flow of the PTA.
The Recording Secretary is responsible for maintaining official records and documentation for the PTA. This includes recording minutes for all meetings, distributing them for approval, and maintaining important records such as bylaws, budgets, reports, and attendance. The Recording Secretary also tracks membership records and monitors updates to the bylaws.
The Recording Secretary serves as the official historian and record keeper of the PTA.
The Treasurer manages all financial operations and ensures compliance with financial regulations. Responsibilities include handling deposits, payments, and reimbursements, maintaining financial records, and providing reports at each meeting. The Treasurer prepares and monitors the annual budget, coordinates audits and IRS filings (Form 990), maintains insurance and tax-exempt status, and submits membership dues to the state PTA.
The Treasurer serves as the financial manager and compliance lead for the PTA.
The Corresponding Secretary manages correspondence and appreciation efforts for the PTA. Responsibilities include sending thank-you notes to donors, sponsors, and speakers, handling PTA emails and letters, coordinating recognition efforts (such as cards and flowers), and assisting with meeting promotions (e.g., marquee, announcements). The Corresponding Secretary also supports the Recording Secretary when needed.

The Parliamentarian ensures that meetings and elections follow proper procedures. Responsibilities include advising on bylaws and parliamentary procedures, assisting with elections and voting processes, and ensuring meetings are conducted correctly.
The Parliamentarian is the rules and governance expert for the PTA.
